Trinity Church, or Trefoldighetskirken, stands at Akersgata 60 in the Hammersborg district of central Oslo, next to the government buildings. Alexis de Chateauneuf of Hamburg designed it, and his pupil Wilhelm von Hanno later modified the plans and shaped the interior. Bishop Jens Lauritz Arup consecrated it in 1858, and Claus Jensen completed the main body in 1872.
The style is Neo-Gothic on a central plan. The nave is octagonal with a superimposed Greek cross, and the exterior is raw red brick. Two slender octagonal bell towers flank an eight-sided central dome. It has about 1,000 seats, among the most of any church in Oslo.
The altarpiece of 1866 is by Adolph Tidemand and shows the Baptism of Jesus. Emanuel Vigeland designed the chandeliers in 1923.
