Toruń Castle is a Gothic castle of the Teutonic Order in Toruń, Poland. Construction began in the middle of the 13th century and continued for about a hundred years. It was one of the first Teutonic castles in the Chełmno Land, and it served as the Knights' base when they began their mission to colonize the Old Prussians.
Unlike most Teutonic castles, it had two wings arranged roughly like a horseshoe. In 1454, during a town rebellion, it was plundered and then ordered demolished by the Toruń city council, an event that marked the start of the Thirteen Years' War.
It was partly excavated and rebuilt in 1966. Today it is a ruin, with exhibits in its vaults. It is a Polish Historic Monument and part of the UNESCO-listed Medieval Town of Toruń.
