Taranto Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral dedicated to Saint Cataldo, the city's patron saint, and it is the seat of the Archdiocese of Taranto. The Byzantines built it in the tenth century under Emperor Nicephorus II Phocas, over a structure of the fifth century. It is the oldest cathedral in Apulia.

In the early eighteenth century Archbishop Giovan Battista Stella commissioned a renovation, and his coat of arms appears above the main entrance. The Baroque facade and statues are attributed to Mauro Manieri, who was born in Lecce in 1697.

Inside are a coffered ceiling in the nave and a crypt containing a fresco. The Saint Catald chapel has a choir, a ceiling and a marble altar. Niches hold statues of Saints Dominic, Sebastian and Irene.
