Hua Yi Designing Consultants designed the tower for SEG Plaza Investment and Development, which was backed by the Shenzhen SEG Group. Construction began in 1997 and finished in 2000. It stands at 82 Shennan Middle Road in the Futian District, and the article does not state the current owner.

The roof is 957 feet (291.6 m) high, and the original rooftop mast brought the total to 1,167 feet (355.8 m) before it was removed. It has 71 floors above ground, or 72 counting the helipad, and four basement levels of parking. The floor area is about 169,083 m² in the infobox and 170,000 in the text.

The structure is a steel-reinforced concrete core with external steel tube columns filled with concrete. The article says the 69th-floor observation level became offices, but also says the 70th and 71st observation decks are closed. It names no style.
