Schloss Hof stands in the Marchfeld in Austria, near the Slovak border. Prince Eugene of Savoy acquired it in 1725 or 1726, as the sources differ, and enlarged it in the Baroque style. Johann Lukas von Hildebrandt is named for the work of 1729.
Empress Maria Theresa acquired it in 1755. Franz Anton Hillebrandt converted it from 1773 to 1775. The Imperial and Royal Naval Academy used it during the First World War.
Its features include a Baroque garden, which had been reconstructed by 2019, and two orangeries from 1729 and 1730 with a preserved hot-air heating system. The palace is open to the public, with workshops and heritage livestock.
