The Saint John the Baptist Church, or Surp Hovhannes Mkrtich, stands in the Kond neighborhood of Yerevan and belongs to the Armenian Apostolic Church. An earthquake in 1689 ruined a medieval church on the site. Melik Aghamal, a wealthy Yerevan resident, built a new one, and it was consecrated in 1710. Baghdasar Arzoumanian and Areg Israyelyan are named as architects.

It is a three-nave basilica with a rectangular plan. The prayer hall and main altar are on the east side, and the dome and walls are faced with tuff stone. There is an extra choir story on the west side and a bell tower.

Rafael Israelyan presented a reconstruction plan to Catholicos Vazgen I in 1973. The church was fully reconstructed in the 1980s.
