The Palazzo Doria Pamphilj stands in Rome between Via del Corso and Via della Gatta. A large expansion began in 1654 under Camillo Pamphilj and Olimpia Borghese, directed by Antonio Del Grande. Gabriele Valvassori designed the façade on Via del Corso, and Carlo Fontana designed the family chapel in the late 17th century.

In 1767 Francesco Nicoletti supervised a renovation for Andrea IV Doria Pamphilj Landi. Late Baroque artists frescoed the state-room ceilings. Four gilded and painted galleries surround a courtyard.

The art collection is mostly of the 16th and 17th centuries. It includes Velázquez's Portrait of Innocent X, Bernini's bust of the same pope and Caravaggio's Penitent Magdalene. The palace is still privately owned by the Doria Pamphilj family.
