The New York Hilton Midtown stands at 1335 Avenue of the Americas, at Sixth Avenue and 53rd Street in Midtown Manhattan. It opened on June 26, 1963, as the New York Hilton at Rockefeller Center. Hilton Hotels Corporation, Rockefeller Center Incorporated and Uris Buildings Corporation were the developers. Morris Lapidus, the original architect, proposed a curved design in the manner of the Fontainebleau but withdrew. William B. Tabler Architects and Harrison and Abramovitz completed the project.

The tower rises 487 feet (148 meters) with 47 floors. It opened with 2,153 rooms and has about 2,000 today. It has more than 150,000 square feet of meeting space, and 47 suites occupy floors 42 to 44.

The hotel was renamed New York Hilton Midtown in 2013. It hosts events such as the International Emmy Awards. Park Hotels and Resorts has owned it since 2017.
