Maastricht railway station stands on Stationsplein in Maastricht, in Limburg. The first station opened on 23 October 1853 with the Maastricht to Aachen line. It was a wooden building in Meerssen, outside the fortified town, so that it could be quickly demolished if the town was attacked. The Maastricht to Venlo line, opened in 1865, linked the city to the rest of the Netherlands.

The station became part of Maastricht in 1907 when the municipal boundary changed. The present brick building was built in 1913 to a design by George Willem van Heukelom. It has 17 tracks.

The station once housed border customs, until passport and security checks ended under the Schengen Agreement. The former customs space now holds a florist, shops and snack bars. A planned tram line was cancelled in 2022.
