The Guinness Storehouse stands at the St. James's Gate Brewery in Dublin, Ireland. It was completed in 1902 as a fermentation plant for the brewery. It was designed in the Chicago School style and was the first multi-storey steel-framed building in Ireland.
The building served as the fermentation plant until 1988, when a new plant opened near the River Liffey. In 1997 the decision was made to convert it into a visitor center, and Imagination led the redesign with the Dublin firm RKD. It opened to the public on December 2, 2000.
The building has seven floors around a glass atrium shaped like a pint of Guinness. The seventh-floor Gravity Bar offers views of Dublin, and most tickets include a pint. About 23.9 million people visited between 2000 and 2022. The Guinness Archives hold records dating back to 1759.
