The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary stands in Abu Hamour, Doha, in the Religious Complex alongside churches of other Christian denominations. Cardinal Ivan Dias dedicated it on March 14, 2008, and it was consecrated the following day. The land was donated by the Emir of Qatar, Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

It was the first church built in Qatar since the seventh-century Muslim conquests. Construction cost about 20 million dollars, and the church holds 2,700 people. Under Qatari law its exterior has no Christian symbols such as crosses, bells or a steeple.

The church belongs to the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia of the Latin Church. It serves about 200,000 Catholics in Qatar, most of them migrant workers from the Philippines, India, South America, Africa, Lebanon and Europe.
