Castle Rising is a ruined medieval fortification in the village of Castle Rising, Norfolk, England. William d'Aubigny II, an Anglo-Norman noble who became Earl of Arundel in 1139, commissioned it soon after 1138. A second, rapid phase of building probably followed in the 1170s.
The Romanesque keep has pilaster buttresses and arcading. The historians Beric Morley and David Gurney call it "one of the finest of all Norman keeps." The site also includes three baileys with large earthworks and a deer park.
Later owners included the Montalt family, Queen Isabella and the Duchy of Cornwall. The property then passed to the Howard family, who restored parts of it. Today it is a Grade I listed ancient monument and is open to the public.
