The Camaldolese Hermit Monastery stands in Bielany, Kraków, on the 326-meter Silver Mount. It is a priory with hermitages and the Assumption of Mary Church. Grand Court Marshal Mikołaj Wolski invited the Camaldolese monks to settle in Bielany in 1603. Construction ran from 1609 to 1630.

Walenty von Säbisch initially supervised the building. After part of the monastery collapsed, the Italian architect Andrea Spezza took over and completed it to his own plans. Another Italian, Giovanni Falconi, worked on the church's richly decorated interior.

The Royal Chapel has paintings by Tommaso Dolabella, court painter to Sigismund III Vasa. Michał Stachowicz painted the central presbytery painting of the Assumption. Pope John Paul II visited the church on August 19, 2002.
